School’s Still Out for Summer
I don’t have any kids yet, but I love hanging out with my friends with kids on their summer adventures. (And when they are far away I follow along on their activities via social media.) As much fun as it can be, I know that keeping young ones entertained and stimulated can be a challenge, and parents are often looking for unique things that they can do with their children. Enter Bundle! On the hot days when you want to just be inside with the air conditioning on and the lovely days when you want to be outside in the park, we can make you a personalized board game to play with your kids. Have your kids complained that there’s nothing to do? Well, there’s nothing like playing a custom game that was created just for them. They’ll feel special, won’t complain that they’re bored, and you’ll be #parentgoals.
Unplugged Fun on Vacation
When we were growing up and going on a road trip, my parents would print out the MapQuest directions and we would all take photos using our disposable cameras. It can be difficult to unplug for vacations because now we get all of our directions from our phones and take most of our pictures with our phone cameras. (And then post them to Instagram after finding a filter or if it’s a particularly scenic place, #nofilter.) We have to be even more intentional about taking time way from our phones. Enter Bundle! (Are we sensing a theme here?) Make a rule that whoever looks at their phone first during a game of Bundle has to move back three spaces, share their most embarrassing moment, and eat the grossest food item that they can find. Yes, make a game within a game and it’s sure to make things more exciting.
The Importance of Play for Productivity
There are a few weeks left in summer and even though I’m not in school anymore, my brain is still wired to feel a renewed sense of focus and energy at the beginning of the school year. Right now I’m reading The New York Times Best Seller Essentialism by Greg McKeown, a book about the disciplined pursuit of less. If you’re wondering what that means, I was too! The book discusses determining what is truly essential in your life to make sure that you don’t spend time spinning your wheels and living an unfulfilled existence. (I promise that I’m not always on the brink of an existential crisis.) The book talks so much about the importance of play! Yes, that’s right, PLAY! Stuart Brown, the founder of the National Institute for Play, is quoted in the book: “Play leads to brain plasticity, adaptability, and creativity. Nothing fires up the brain like play.” How can you prepare your brain for the end of the summer and the beginning of a new school year? Enter Bundle! (I hope you said it before I did this time.) Bundle is great for connecting with others but it’s also a great way to spark creativity in yourself. So whether you want to impress your kids with your game playing skills, unplug so you can truly relax on vacation, or get focused for the upcoming season, your gals at Bundle have got you covered.
